Parish Priest
Welcome to Our New Clergy
St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church warmly welcomes our new clergy, Father Sviatoslav Malychkovych, who has been assigned to serve our parish.
Born in Ukraine, Father Sviatoslav celebrated his first Divine Liturgy at St. Michael’s on July 12, 2026, and we are delighted to welcome him and Dobrodiyka Oksana to our parish family. We pray that God will bless their ministry as they begin this new chapter with our congregation.

2026 Annual General Meeting
Annual Meeting Announcement
At the Annual Meeting held on February 22, the membership of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church elected Mr. Joe Bodnar as the new President of the Parish Council.
We extend our sincere congratulations to Mr. Bodnar and pray that his leadership will be guided with wisdom, dedication, and faithful service to our parish community.
We also express our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Dorothy Stachniak for her devoted service as President. Her leadership, commitment, and many contributions to the life of our parish are deeply appreciated.

Metropolitan Ilarion Divine Liturgy
On June 14, 2026, the Sunday of All Saints of Rus’ Ukraine, His Eminence Metropolitan Ilarion celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Hе was assisted by Protopresbyter Fr. Victor Lakusta and Protodeacon Fr. Anton Lakusta.

Easter Brunch
On Sunday, Apr 19, guests were treated to our Easter brunch offering traditional Ukrainian foods.
Blessing of the Easter Baskets
On Saturday, April 11, Father Victor blessed the Easter Baskets after Liturgy in our Parish Hall. Approximately 175 people attended, bringing beautifully prepared baskets for this special tradition.
Malanka 2026
Saturday, January 17, 2026, over 175 guests celebrated Malanka at our biggest party of the year! The Sparkling Tones and The New Lumberjacks kept the dance floor full as we rang in the New Year Ukrainian style. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner buffet and late lunch, great music, and wonderful company throughout the celebration.
Epiphany
January 5th, 2026
St. Michael’s celebrated the Feast of the Epiphany with our evening Divine Liturgy, followed by a delicious buffet of traditional Ukrainian foods. The Parish Hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Introduced by our President, Dorothy, Father Victor conducted the traditional Epiphany blessing for our many guests. Following the meal, everyone joined together for a joyful sing-along of Christmas carols.
St. Nicholas Day 2025
Celebrating “St. Nicholas the Wonderworker“
On Sunday, Dec 7th, our Parish celebrated St. Nicholas, the Patron Saint. Following the Service, a buffet lunch was served. Once St. Nicholas arrived, to the delight of everyone, our Church President Dorothy invited the children of all ages on stage to meet St. Nicholas and to be presented with a gift. This is one of our favorite days of the year and was well attended.

Malanka 2026

Thank you to everyone who joined us to 🎉 Celebrate Ukrainian New Year’s! 🎉 and helped make the evening so memorable. We’re already looking forward to an even bigger Malanka 2027! 🎶

St. Michael’s Parish Hall, 12918 – 121 ST NW, Edmonton, AB.
Entrance located on the East side of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church on 121 ST
Our spacious Parish Hall accommodates 175 guests for dances and large functions, or up to 250 people with theatre seating. Featuring a full stage suitable for a live band plus a large dance floor, our Parish Hall hosts many social events during the year, often featuring the very popular ‘The Sparkling Tones‘ band.

Street level access on the East side of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church on 121 Street. Parking is available in our lots North and West of St. Michael’s. There is a main entrance reception area with coat check inside the Parish Hall doors.

Featuring Brandon Hachkowski & The Ukrainian Tradition Band, specializing in traditional Ukrainian music and known for lively polkas and waltzes at festivals. Active across Western Canada, they are frequently featured at events such as the Pysanka Festival, delivering high-energy dance tunes.
An evening of great food, live music & dancing – includes our delicious buffet dinner and a late lunch. Advance tickets for this popular event are only $60.
This popular event traditionally sells out – ticket sales will be announced soon.

Worship Services
Our Worship Services are conducted bilingually in Ukrainian and English.
Наші богослужіння проводяться двомовно українською та англійською мовами.
We welcome you to worship with us. Whereas Holy Communion is the most important mark of membership in the Church and as sign of our unity of faith, we encourage you to prepare yourself through prayer, fasting and confession. The two Holy Sacraments of Confession and Communion are served during the Divine Liturgy on Sundays.
