Greeting from the Pastor

Dear Beloved Brethren,

Thank you for visiting our St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Parish of Edmonton website.  Perhaps your visit is an indication that you are searching for a church home.  On the other hand, it may be that you simply have a desire to know something about our Church, its doctrinal stand, its various ministries, and its calendar of worship services and special events.  Whatever the case may be, I’m glad that you are here.

Our most important mission here at St. Michael’s is the “good news,” the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ: that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  We’re thankful that God loves each one of us and that He offers to us the free gift of forgiveness for our sin and eternal life to be spent in His Heavenly Kingdom.  And this gift can be received by simply calling upon the Lord Jesus Christ, believing that He died to pay the debt of our sin, that He was crucified, buried, and that He arose from the dead on the third day.

Once the matter of our salvation is settled, it is followed by the wonderful experience of Christian learning and growth awaiting us.  This is where our church comes in to guide us through our Christian journey towards Eternal Salvation.  In achieving this objective, we also offer numerous ways to be involved in our Orthodox Christian services.

We endeavor to make St. Michael’s a place that strengthens families, that has a Christ-centered ministry, which offers Bible-based preaching and teaching, where hymns are sung and where you can worship and meet with God.  Our desire is that you and your family would be drawn to Christ for your spiritual life.  Enjoy our website, then come to worship with us.  We’d love to meet you and know you.

Fr. Victor, Pastor
