Parish Xhram (Patron Saint Day) Sunday, November 9, 2025
We pray to St. Michael, our patron saint at every service. On November 9th we celebrated him. This is our
Xhram.

Following the Liturgy, we were delighted by an excellent turnout for the buffet dinner, where guests enjoyed Ukrainian music performed by the band, led by Dwayne from The Sparkling Tones. The proceedings were hosted by our current President, Dorothy. The St. Michael’s Ukrainian Women’s Association was acknowledged by Shirley, and current members were each presented with a rose in appreciation of their contributions

St. Nicholas’ Day 2024

Celebrating “St. Nicholas the Wonderworker

On Sunday, Dec 8th, our Parish celebrated St. Nicholas, the Patron Saint. Following the Service, a buffet lunch was served. Once St. Nicholas arrived, to the delight of everyone, our Church President Dorothy invited all the children on stage to meet St. Nicholas and to be presented with a gift. This is one of our favorite days of the year !

Saint Nicholas is known for his compassion and generosity, and is also known as ‘St. Nicholas the Wonderworker‘. Saint Nicholas is revered as a miracle worker and the patron saint of children, the poor, travelers and farmers amongst many more.

Traditionally, Nicholas was born in the port city of Patara to wealthy Christian parents during the Roman Empire (15 March 270 – 6 December 343). After his parents died from an epidemic, Nicholas is said to have distributed their wealth to the poor. His legendary habit of secret gift-giving gave rise to the folklore of Santa Claus.
